Delivery Times and Shipping Rates

IMPORTANT: Please read this entire page if you need your order by a certain date or if you are ordering perishable/fresh Thai herbs to insure timely delivery to you.

HOW TO CALCULATE WHEN AN ITEM WILL BE DELIVERED

When planning for a party etc. don't forget to include time for both processing and UPS time in transit. Also see notes below about PERISHABLE ITEMS and RUSH DELIVERY.

You can calculate when an item will be delivered by simply adding the shipping availability time displayed on each product page ("Usually ships within 2-3 business days" for example) to the number of days your shipping method will take. Here's the simple equation:

Shipping Availability Time + Delivery Method Ship Time = Total Delivery Time

Example: If an item with a shipping availability message of "Usually ships within 2-3 days" is sent via UPS SECOND DAY AIR ("2 business days"), it will arrive in approximately 5 business days. But please be advised that orders with PERISHABLE ITEMS require extra time for processing.

Shipping Availability Time

Usually we fill your order within 2-3 days, but sometimes we need up to 5 business days. If there is a delay longer than 5 business days we will e-mail you to give you the option to ship your order immediately without some item(s) or to hold it until everything becomes available.

Delivery Method Ship Time

We offer 3 shipping options from our location in Los Angeles (91605):

*UPS Ground
UPS Ground time in transit is shown in business days (see UPS time in transit map). For example if a package is shipped on Monday it will arrive the following week in most of New York state but by Friday to New York City.

*UPS 2nd Day Air®
UPS Second Day Air arrives in two business days except in some locations (please see www.ups.com if you live in a rural area for more details). Choosing UPS Second Day Air shipping does not insure that you will be receiving your order within a few days. Please see How to Calculate When an Item Will Be Delivered above for more details.

*UPS 3 Day SelectSM
We now also offer UPS Three Day Select which arrives in three business days except in some locations (see www.ups.com for details). Choosing UPS Three Day Select does not guarantee that you will receive your order in 3 days. Please see How to Calculate When an Item Will Be Delivered above for more details.

NOTE: Business Days are Monday through Friday, excluding holidays observed by UPS. For more exact details regarding time in transit see the UPS web site where you can input your zip code for delivery and use our ship from zip 91605 to calculate days in transit.

Perishable Items

We normally ship fresh produce items on Mondays and Wednesdays only so that these highly perishable items are not in transit over the weekend. In the holiday months (November, December and January) we also ship these items on Tuesdays.

Also we try to ship the best quality available, so that it can sustain the trip to your delivery address. As these items are not manufactured their availability fluctuates, therefore we will notify you via e-mail if we expect not to have something you ordered.

Perishable items shipped via UPS Second Day Air does not permit delivery on Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays or holidays to minimize time in transit so plan accordingly.

Rush Delivery

Please make a note if you need your order by a certain date in the 'comments section' of the online checkout when finalizing your order so that we can accommodate you as best possible.

Insure that your email address is correct, so that we can contact you if necessary. We do not ship overnight. Choosing UPS Second Day Air shipping does not insure that you will be receiving your order within a few days. Please see How to Calculate When an Item Will Be Delivered above for more details.

Special Situations

Weather, natural disasters, and other events beyond our control may affect shipping and delivery times. If conditions are serious and expected to last longer than a brief period of time, special instructions may be added to the checkout pages and to our voice messaging system.

WHAT OUR SHIPPING MESSAGES MEAN

The shipping message on the Temple of Thai web site (e.g. Usually within 2-3 business days.) tells you how quickly products are expected to be ready to leave our warehouses. Please note that our shipping messages do not indicate when items will arrive at their final destination - only when items are expected to be packed and ready to leave the warehouse.

After you have placed your order, we will send you an email with your order summary. Once your order is shipped, we will send you an email confirming that it is on its way to you.

The total time it will take to receive an item is determined by adding the time shown in its shipping message to the number of days your shipping method will take.

HOW TO DETERMINE COST OF SHIPPING

The UPS rates are calculated 'live' from the UPS web site based on both the product weight (and for large items, the dimension) and distance from our warehouses to your ship to location. We also add a handling fee of $1.75 to these rates to cover the cost of the packaging materials.

To quickly and easily calculate the total shipping amount due, simply add the items to the online shopping cart that you wish to purchase and enter in your shipping address (no need to enter in any credit card data). You can use method to calculate your total costs without needing to contact us.

If you would like to order offline you may also email or fax us your shopping list and quantities desired, along with your shipping address for a shipping cost quote. Alternatively, you may call toll free and leave a voice message with your email address if possible so we can provide you with a shipping quote.
