Green Papaya Salad; Som Tum – Made by an Expert

I wanted to share my lunch with you, Green Papaya Salad (Som Tum), that Thai street food classic from Isan – the NE of Thailand. Delicious as it is healthy! Made at one of my favorite stalls in minutes. The chef is so experienced and fast…four chilis were deposited and pounded in her mortar in the time it took me to start videoing. But don’t let the speed fool you it was delicious!!

The dish usually comes with raw vegetables too such as the ones here, cabbage, long beans, cucumber and basil leaves. I also ordered BBQ chicken (Gai Yang) and sticky rice (kao Niew).
