|Thai Tea powder is used to prepare the popular orange colored Thai Iced Tea (cha yen in Thai) as served in Thai restaurants. Pantainorasingh brand Thai tea is recommended by Thai cooking instructor, Kasma Loha-unchit for brewing the best Thai Ice Tea. |
Prepare tea in advance and refrigerate for best results. Simply brew strong tea in our cotton tea sock (available for sale here) to prevent the tea from floating on top of your brew, as it is very powdery. Then while the tea is still warm, stir in sweetened condensed milk to taste, and cool if time permits. Pour over lots of ice, topping with unsweetened condensed milk for an extra rich taste.
See our Thai Iced Tea recipes for more details.
This tea powder can also be used to prepare Cha Manao (Thai Tea with Lime) - instead of adding sweet milk, simply sweeten with sugar to taste and add freshly squeezed lime; serve over ice.
Of course you may also enjoy this Thai tea served hot. Please note Pantainorasingh brand tea is sometimes labeled as Thai-Style Spiced Tea, Thai Tea Mix or Thai Seasoning Mix.
