 Add Fish Sauce (nahm plah in Thai) to your essential Asian pantry items so that you can enjoy Thai food anytime. Tiparos brand is a standard ingredient in many Asian kitchens worldwide. Tiparos brand fish sauce is more salty and strongly flavored then Golden Boy brand. Cook's Illustrated recommended it as a "dark and pungent" fish sauce with a "really aggressive" taste (Source: July 2004, Cook's Illustrated). Add fish sauce to soups, curries, marinades and salads. Fish sauce is a versatile ingredient that can be both cooked or sprinkled over dishes like Seafood Salad before serving. It is a common table condiment in Thailand, especially combined with fresh lime juice and fresh hot chili peppers. There is really no good substitute for authentic Thai fish sauce.
