Fresh Produce Shipping Terms

What is the Best Way to Ship Perishables?

Choose UPS 2ND DAY AIR when shipping OUTSIDE of these 5 states: CA, WA, OR, UT, or NV. You may check your own state's time in transit with this UPS Ground Map. We will not reimburse for losses of perishables shipped by UPS Ground if your shipping address is more then 2 UPS business days from Los Angeles (zip code 91605).

To save $$ on shipping charges, for larger orders, place two orders, shipping perishables by UPS 2nd Day Air and non-perishables by UPS Ground. To do so, simply check out online two times.

Also in cooler months, it may be possible to send perishables by UPS Ground but you do so at your own risk. Please see each item's detail page for our recommendations. Basil can never be shipped by UPS Ground unless you live in one of the 5 states mentioned above.

When Will I Receive My Perishable Order?

We ship perishables only on Mondays* and Wednesdays, to insure that the freshest product possible arrives to you. Fresh produce arrives only once a week to our location in Los Angeles, so please allow extra time for processing when ordering these items. During peak season we also ship on Tuesdays. *(or the first business day of the week if this is a holiday)

Rush Delivery?

If you need your order by a certain date please make a note in the 'comments section' of the shopping cart. Choosing UPS 2nd Day Air, does not guarantee that your order will be considered a rush delivery. If it's not possible for your order to arrive by your desired date, we will notify you by e-mail (please double check your e-mail address!).

Perishable items shipped via UPS Second Day Air does not permit delivery on Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays or holidays to minimize time in transit so plan accordingly. We will do our best to try and accommodate your needs.

Please see How to Calculate When an Item Will Be Delivered for further details.
