Be sure to stock Japanese sushi rice, nori seaweed, Japanese soy sauce, wasabi and rice wine vinegar so you can make sushi anytime. Thai street vendors like to roll canned tuna with lots of wasabi and a bit of cucumber with Thai grown sushi rice in nori and dipped in soy sauce for an inexpensive (and convenient) snack.

Tip: if you cannot find Suhi Vinegar, its simple and inexpensive to make your own. Combine 1/3 cup ordinary white vinegar, 2 tblsp white sugar and 1-1/2 tsp salt in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly to dissolve, remove from heat and cool to room temperature. Store in a glass jar in the refrigerator indefinately.
